How To Share An Idea On Freeed
Using your teacher's account on Freeed, you can share your own ideas, knowledge and experiences with fellow teachers in the community. To create a post click on the "Share an idea" button on the top of your page. You can publish your idea right away or save it as a draft. Here is a step by step guide to sharing your first idea.
Add an idea
Add content to Freeed that you believe are useful to your fellow teachers
You can share,
- A lesson idea or a ready to implement lesson plan
- Teaching guidance, exercises, assignments, resources, classroom material, etc.
- A picture, mind map or step by step guide
- An article, reflection or review you’ve written
- A video link embedded in Freeed together with some follow up questions or tasks related to the video
You can add attachments in various formats to Freeed namely *.jpeg, *.jpg *.docx, *.odt and *.pdf. This means, you can add ready-made ideas in the format you want to Freeed, as well as store everything conveniently in one place.
To find the ideas and material you published click on the ‘Me’ icon and go to your profile page. Here, you can also continue to edit or delete the ideas you’ve published.
Using the idea editor
In the idea editor you can
- Add a main image by clicking on the "+" sign
- Add the title or heading to your post*
- Explain the idea in detail and add more information in the body text*
- Add attachments if needed
*Please note the title and body sections are required fields - so you have to type something into them in order for the article to be successfully published
You can add attachments by clicking
- "Add Attachment" button
- "Add Image" button or
- "Add Video" button.
You have to type in an 'attachment name' before saving the file, for it to be successfully attached to the post.
Categories help you and fellow teachers to search for and find ideas more effectively. You can specify the program/competency level (A1 (beginner to C2 proficient), area and resource type of the idea. Moreover, you can also include some keywords to help categorize your idea even further.
If you’re a Freeed Premium member you can also select if your idea is visible to all the teachers on Freeed, or only the colleagues from your own school or educational organization.
To publish an idea or save it as a draft
- Your idea doesn’t have to be ready to publish right away. Instead you can also save the unfinished idea as a draft by clicking the "Save as a draft" button.
- When the idea is ready, you can publish it by clicking the "Publish" button.
If you’re a Freeed Premium member, remember to select if your idea is public to everyone or only visible to the colleagues from your school, before hitting publish. Please note that you cannot change the visibility of your publication afterwards.
To edit an idea published or save as a draft
You can edit a published idea or a saved draft by opening it and clicking the “Edit idea” button on the top right corner.
